• Teen vs. Original?
Are you wondering how the Teen and Original decks differ? Here’s the low down:
The Original deck was created for adults; some of the actions on the cards are money oriented (pay the toll for the car behind you, unexpectedly pick up the tab) or focus on work (leave a note on a co-worker’s desk), or ask you to do other actions that require some life experience and knowledge. The Original deck would resonate more with a teen who is out of school, in college or working.
The Teen deck specifically deals with teen life in that the actions are focused on school, friends and family (when you see someone sitting alone at lunch invite them to sit with you, burn a motivational cd for a friend, do a family chore without being asked, for instance). The teen deck is really great for middle and high school aged teens, as many of the actions have to do with school life.
note:
There are parents doing the decks together with their kids of any age, making it a family experience. They’ve told us that doing the cards together provides a really great platform for kids to learn to connect with others and practice compassion. If this is what you’d like to do, either deck can work.
