Journey to Ellen: The Whole Story
Watching Ellen DeGeneres’ successful campaign to appear on the cover of Oprah Winfrey’s magazine, O, inspired us to launch a campaign of our own.
Utilizing some of Ellen’s ideas from her O Magazine campaign (a visualization board, photoshopped magazine covers) and inventing a few of our own, we started filming a comedic web series called, “Journey to Ellen”. Each week (or so), we document MB’s attempts to get the cards to Ellen, often with hilarious and unexpected outcomes.
From a pink wig and and a Super Girl costume, to the “9 to 5″ Ellens, to discovering that Oprah actually says Boom Boom! on her show, to dancing our hearts out in the season 1 finale, we’ve done our best to get Ellen’s attention.
The first episode originally aired March 26, 2009 and since then we have filmed a total of 20, 2-3 minute episodes with the most recent being the season two opener, Day 20: A Little Journey.
We are still filming, and while we haven’t heard anything yet, we’re not giving up. There are fans out there who love the series and want more, so we keep on going. Plus, we’re having too much fun to stop.
